"Desert Wood 54L" is an open aquarium with a nice little moss and Anubias barteri "Petite", which is a dwarf variant of the ordinary Anubias barteri var. nana. The aquarium requires some maintenance so that it will not turn into a jungle within a few months. "Desert Wood 54L" consists of a pair of large desert roots - the thin, very twisted roots that became popular a few years ago. The bottom layer consists of white cichlid sand with large pieces of red fossilised wood and pebbles the size of a walnut from the nearby gravel pit. The pebbles form a sharp borderline with the white cichlid sand. The aquarium is open and it is thus possible to allow the plants to grow out of it - in this case ordinary Anubias barteri var. nana stick out of the water on the left at the back.
Tips! The small fine java moss grows considerably more slowly than the ordinary java moss and is thus well suited for aquariums where trimming must take place less often than what is otherwise required.
