Dan Crawford has designed and maintained "Fish Box 40" from Pets at Home. There is light enough so that medium difficulty plants can grow when CO2 is added. The layout shows the vigorous forest with trees branches, colours from dark green to reddish and many different leaf textures. Centrally, Dan uses Nano Sumatra wood. Behind the wood-pieces and directly underneath the light source the Ludwigia adds color to the layout. Petchii is in the back, Eleocharis in center and helferi in front creates a pleasant transition in the aquarium from back to front. Ranunculus mixes with helferi in the front of the tank and grows well in the dense under-forest.
Tip! Most Cryptocorynes do well also in corners of the aquarium where light often is limiting compared to centrally in the aquarium.
