Red groups of Rotala macrandra and Alternanthera 'Mini' create focus plants in various shades of green - see video for a close up on the macrandra. The central tree root with mounted Christmas moss makes the aquarium look older, while the fresh green carpet of Cuba Hemianthus gives a light and friendly impression. Here, we used both Lilaeopsis and Cryptocoryne parva to break the passage between the central island and the front carpet. The darker green leaves of the Lilaeopsis and parva work well with the light green Hemianthus.
Tip! The tall Eleocharis is great for creating depth and perspective, since you can see through the straws.
